That Chris Lynn would cause a bidding war in the Indian Premier League was very much on the cards and the hard-hitting Australian did cause a war in the ongoing auction in Bangalore.  The 27-year old was eventually bought by his former team Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 9.60 crore.

Lynn had starred for the Knight Riders last season, scoring 295 runs in just 7 games at an outstanding strike-rate of 158.02 but was surprisingly released by them.  The two-time champions saw off stiff competition from Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore to secure the services of the explosive opener.

Lynn has so far played 96 T20s, piling up 2776 runs with the help of 1 century and 20 fifties. He has scored those runs at an average of more than 37 and a strike-rate of over 148.
