Australia pacer, Andrew Tye, attracted a huge bid on the second day of IPL auction as the T20I specialist bowler bagged a contract worth Rs 7.20 Crore with Kings XI Punjab.

Tye attracted the attention of maximum franchises during last year’s IPL when he took a hat-trick for Gujarat Lions on his IPL debut. His IPL tourney came to an abrupt end when he was ruled out of the tournament due to a shoulder injury. However, his exploits were enough to save his picture in franchises minds, and he went for huge bucks this time.

Tye, meanwhile, continued his good performance in the Big Bash League too and drew limelight when he took a hat-trick last year, again. That was his third hat-trick in T20I cricket.

He recently made his ODI debut for Australia against England.

Tye will join pacers Ankit Rajpoot, Mohit Sharma and Marcus Stoinis in KXIP camp.
