IPL 2018: Mahendra Singh Dhoni Spoke to Stephen Fleming for Batting Up the Order

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been in some superb form in the ongoing Indian Premier League. He has looked in sensational touch in most of the matches and has been quite phenomenal.

The 36-year-old Dhoni has scored 360 runs in the tournament and has been quite flamboyant in the middle order.

The Ranchi-based star Dhoni has smashed the most number of sixes in the tournament so far and has been quite severe on almost all the bowling line-ups.

At the toss ahead of the match against the Rajasthan on Saturday (May 11) evening, Dhoni told that he had told CSK’s head coach Stephen Fleming ahead of the tournament that he wanted to bat up the order.

Dhoni while flexing his muscles, has performed quite brilliantly so far.

“Before the start of the IPL, I spoke to Fleming and said to him I would like to bat higher. As I bat more and more, I can give you good returns and it was a gamble he took,” he revealed at the toss in Jaipur.

Chennai has performed pretty well in the competition. They have won seven matches out of nine till now and is currently facing the Rajasthan Royals in the 43rd match.

The form of Dhoni will surely be crucial in the outcome of India’s results in the One-day International series in the coming months.

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly had said that he will like to see Dhoni continue in the same fashion for the national team. His form also squashes the hopes of any youngster at any time sooner.

Meanwhile, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be looking to lead Chennai to a third title this year.

Given CSK’s good run of form this year, they will definitely back themselves to bag their another coveted title.
