The 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw a clash between table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad and struggling Delhi Daredevils.
Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan ensured Sunrisers’ winning momentum continued in the season with a thumping nine-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils.

Shakib al Hasan’s early strike
Sunrisers Hyderabad started off on a perfect note with a couple of early wickets from their premier all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
Hasan first removed the dangerous looking Prithvi Shaw off a peach of delivery before dismissing English international, Jason Roy. After the bonus wicket of Shreyas Iyer through a run-out, Delhi Daredevils were reduced to 43-3, providing the early momentum to the visitors.
Rishabh Pant’s masterclass
One of the revelations in the tournament, Rishabh Pant continued his hitting form this season by bringing up his maiden IPL ton in his career. Pant, perhaps, scored the best knock of the tournament with his 63-ball 128, at a strike rate of 203. His knock contained as many as fifteen boundaries and seven sixes.
Also, with the help of his blistering knock, Rishabh Pant propelled the Daredevils score towards a total of 187, scoring a 68% of the runs.
Shikhar Dhawan’s return to form
Much had been talked about Sunrisers Hyderabad opener, Shikhar Dhawan form after receiving a blow to the elbow. The elegant southpaw took his side towards victory with a fifty ball-92.
Additionally, Dhawan scored at a competitive strike rate of 184, with nine boundaries and four maximums. With his knock of 94, Dhawan announced his return of form at his home-ground at Ferozshah Kotla.
Kane Williamson’s captain’s knock
The captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kane Williamson played yet another special knock, steering his team to another victory in the tournament with his 53-ball 83.
Also, playing at a strike rate of 156, the skipper of New Zealand scored eight boundaries and a couple of maximums. Williamson made sure the Sunrisers juggernaut continued to roll on this season with yet another thumping win of nine-wickets.
Hapless Daredevils bowling attack
Initially, Batting first, Delhi Daredevils posted a challenging total in front of the visitors, the bowling attack disappointed with their inability to take wickets.
As a result, SRH won the match within 19 overs, hampering their net run-rate further in the tournament.
