Delhi Daredevils won the toss and decided to bat first against  Mumbai Indians in the fifty-fifth match of the Indian Premier League at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.

Here is what the captains said:

Shreyas Iyer:

“Going to have a bat. No grass on the wicket, seems dry, so we will look to put a big score on the board. We have been batting first in the last few games as well so we are confident of putting up a good score. Liam comes in place of Avesh Khan.”

Rohit Sharma:

“Nothing changes for us, we need to restrict them to as little as possible. We are aware of these conditions, so we just have to play good cricket for 40 overs now that we know that we are bowling first and we need to restrict them to as little as possible. Mitch McClenaghan has a shoulder niggle, so Mustifizur replaces him.”

Preview:

Mumbai Indians’ aim will be crystal clear when they take the field in their last group game against Delhi Daredevils. Among the three teams that are fighting for the last available playoff spot, the defending champions have a big advantage due to their superior net run-rate. A win in all likelihood will seal a playoff spot for them. But at the same time they should not get complacent against bottom placed Delhi Daredevils.

The Daredevils will be high on confidence after beating Chennai Super Kings in their last game. A win in this game would do their confidence a world of good. Moreover, the players will be desperate to win the game to give their fans something to cheer about.
