Mitchell Johnson remained unsold in the ongoing auction for the 2018 Indian Premier League despite being a favourite to be picked. Johnson is regarded as one of the most impactful fast bowler’s in world cricket at the moment. The former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson had pulled out of the third edition of the Pakistan Super League to have proper rest before Indian Premier League. Johnson last played in the Big Bash League Down Under for Perth Scorchers.
Johnson has played for two franchises in the cash-rich league, i.e. Mumbai Indian and Kings XI Punjab over the years. Johnson had earlier withdrawn from the upcoming season of the PSL to prepare for the next season of the IPL. However, his plans did not work well as he remained unsold in the auction.
Johnson had a base price of 2 crores. Twitteratis took to Twitter and trolled the former Australian bowler on being neglected by all the franchises to which Johnson had a strong reply. He wrote on Twitter:
“To all the idiotic people out there hiding behind a computer screen typing absolute junk……. I’m still smiling & enjoying my life with my amazing family #nottheendoftheworld.”
