IPL 2018: Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes delighted to join RCB

One of the eight-team franchises of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bangalore has availed the renowned all-rounders in the form of Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali on Saturday at Bengaluru during the mega-auction of the eleventh edition.

The 30-year-old Birmingham-based Ali will be playing his first IPL after RCB brought him in INR 1.7 crore.

The off-spinner further expressed satisfaction to be the part of the RCB camp under the leadership of Virat Kohli.
The 20-second video form the RCB saw praising the all-rounders by remarking the players have ‘aboard the bold train’.

“Hi, guys, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes here… Just want to say how excited we are about joining RCB in the IPL. We can’t wait for the start,” the spin-bowling all-rounder Ali said.

Ali, who has shown quality improvement, further played overall 109 matches in which he scored 2,139 runs and bagged 69 scalps.

The 28-year-old bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes is jubilant after fetching the INR 7.4 crore deal which further saw him being availed by the new franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore after representing Kolkata Knight Riders in his maiden edition in 2017.

The in-form all-rounder Woakes snapped INR 5 crore in the tenth edition, and he is eagerly waiting to join the RCB camp to deliver for the star-studded side following the major overhauling.

“Yeah, can’t wait to get out at the Bangalore- meet the squad and play in front of some amazing fans. Very excited go over there and get started. Thanks for picking us we are looking forward to it,” Woakes maintained in his video statement alongside Ali.

In 2017, Woakes featured in 13 matches for Knight Riders which further saw him bagging 17 wickets at the exceptional average of 22.70, however, being in such remarkable form, the prominent player would be aiming to contribute with the bat as well.

In overall 102 T20 matches, Woakes bagged 109 wickets at an average of 24.77, and he went on to score 708 runs at an average of 23.60.
