Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) co-owner, Preity Zinta delighted, as Mumbai Indians (MI) fails to make it to the playoffs in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after losing out to Delhi Daredevils (DD).

Mumbai’s hopes of making it to the playoffs ended, as they lost to bottom-placed Delhi by 11 runs.

Meanwhile, batting first, Delhi posted a staggering total of 174 for the loss of four wickets. Rishabh Pant once again led the Delhi unit with a well made 64 off 44 deliveries. All-rounder Vijay Shankar, who found his form in the latter half of the league also contributed with 43 crucial runs.

In reply, Mumbai got off well banking on Windies opener, Evin Lewis (48). However, a middle-order collapse slowed Mumbai’s run-chase, as Amit Mishra (three for 19) dried things up from one end.

Some late blows from Hardik Pandya (27) and Ben Cutting (37) couldn’t come to Mumbai’s rescue. As a result, Mumbai finished on the fifth spot with 12 points from 14 games.
