Delhi Daredevils (DD) may not have a sound campaign in this eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) but young cricketers like Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, and Shreyas Iyer have left a long-lasting impression.

Although Pant has struggled with the national team, he has proved his mettle in this season of IPL. Considered a successor to Mahendra Singh Dhoni at least in the shortest format, he will have to continue this form in the future.

Meanwhile, Pant in a conversation with Economic Times has revealed the inside stories about his life and this ongoing league.

Talking about his hundred which is the season’s best for many, the southpaw admitted that it has been a good season.

Moreover, he wanted to win more matches for his side, however, lost many close encounters. He also revealed that he has now come to terms with international cricket.

It has been a very good season personally. I would have loved for our team to win many more matches but we lost a few close games. I wasn’t able to do what I wanted when I played for India. There was pressure and I was perhaps feeling it a little too much. When you play international sport there is always pressure and I have now been able to adjust to it and come to terms with it,” Pant said.

The cricketer from Delhi mentioned that he made little adjustments to his game as soon as he realised that cricket is not only about hitting sixes.

Pant also added that he loves to play aggressive and the freedom comes to him naturally.

The scope of improvement:

Rishabh Pant amassed 684 runs in this season with one brilliant century and five half-centuries.

Speaking about his stint with the bat, Pant stressed that there is a scope for improvement. Further, he is also confident of doing better in the future.

There is always scope for improvement and I have to improve a lot. But I have enjoyed my batting this season and to be able to score important runs for your team is always a pleasing experience. (But) I can definitely do better,” he concluded.
