Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owned by Shah Rukh Khan were knocked out of the Vivo Indian Premier League (IPL) in the season eleven after suffering a 13-run loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday (May 25) night.

Hyderabad’s victory was largely built around a sensational all-round performance by Afghanistan sensation Rashid Khan. He was sublime with the bat and was equally if not more efficient with the ball in hand, in the field.

Courtesy of their victory, Hyderabad will now compete against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the all-important final on super Sunday (May 27).

After KKR’s elimination from the tournament, team owner Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle and expressed his disappointment.

However, the Bollywood star congratulated all the boys for their sensational performance for the major part of the tournament.

It is a great achievement for KKR and their skipper Dinesh Karthik to go this far with such a young and inexperienced team. Shah Rukh Khan also thanked the players for all the entertainment, in this edition of the tournament.

“Well was not to be. Will have to cancel my flight but KKR well done. U did yourself proud. All of u so so well done. Love you & yes I am smiling. Thks for the entertainment & so many moments of glory. V r an awesome team!” Shah Rukh Khan wrote.

KKR opener Chris Lynn in reply thanked the “Badshah of Bollywood” for their support and being understanding owners.

“Thank you for the last 2 months mate. Couldn’t ask for better owners in yourself and Jay and also the quality coaching and support staff we have onboard the KKR family. Will be back bigger and stronger,” Lynn wrote in his reply.

The swashbuckling opener Lynn was in good touch against the Sunrisers. He played some delightful shots en route to his 48 before falling prey to Rashid.
