IPL 2018: Shane Warne Congratulates Rajasthan Royals on Qualifying for Playoffs

Rajasthan Royals qualified for the playoffs after Delhi Daredevils defeated Mumbai Indians by 11 runs in the 55th match of the competition.

In the end, it was some terrific show by Delhi Daredevils who registered an 11 runs victory against Mumbai Indians. Delhi’s win meant Rajasthan qualified through to the playoffs. They will meet Kolkata Knight Riders in the eliminator clash on Wednesday at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

Royals mentor, Shane Warne took to his twitter handle and congratulated them after qualifying through to the playoffs.

“Congrats to the @rajasthanroyals family for making the playoffs – we did it! So happy for everyone involved & what an amazing effort it was to come back after the first half of the tournament !! Feeling very proud of you all right now !”

It was some exceptional performance by Rishabh Pant who scored a magnificent 64 off 44 deliveries. It included some wonderful shots. Mumbai made a meal of the chase.

Ben Cutting played a wonderful knock which kept Mumbai in the run chase for a significant time. The leg-spinning duo of Amit Mishra and Sandeep Lamichhane bagged three wickets each. It was a magnificent spell of leg-spinning bowling by the duo which was instrumental in restricting Mumbai to 162.

Ben Cutting struck some magnificent blows in the end. He smashed a few lusty blows, and his dismissal in the final over of Harshal Patel turned out to be decisive in the outcome of the result. Hardik Pandya also played a terrific knock and was eventually dismissed by Amit Mishra.

Rajasthan has played some exceptional cricket in the last few games. Their comeback had been quite sensational in their previous few matches. They defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the must-win encounter a couple of days back which proved to be a great match for Rajasthan.

After Punjab’s loss to Chennai, Rajasthan qualified through to the playoffs.
