Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) stormed into the grand finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 after defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 14 runs in the Qualifier second at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

It was a sensation all-round performance by Rashid Khan. His performance propelled Hyderabad to a sensational victory. They will now meet the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the competition at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday (May 26).

Following their superb win team opener, Shikhar Dhawan took to his Twitter handle and hailed Rashid Khan for the brilliant all-round show.

“It was a fantastic match to take us through to the final..one of the best we have played this season. @rashid.khan19 you were brilliant on the night with an all-round performance #orangearmy #ipl2018 #confidenceboost,” Dhawan posted.

Coming into bat, lower down the order, Rashid played magical innings which proved instrumental in Hyderabad posting a commendable total of 174.

At one stage they not even looked like crossing 155. Rashid scored a quickfire 34 of just 10 balls which as studded with a couple of fours and four sixes. The six over the square leg region was the best shot of the innings. He swivelled across the off stump and flicked Prasidh Krishna for a massive maximum.

Rashid Khan- The Master at Work

Even with the ball in hand, he was a master at work and bamboozled the KKR batsmen on a consistent basis. He bagged the important wickets of Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, and Andre Russell. The wicket of Lynn was perhaps the most important one. Uthappa played a horrible shot to be castled by the leggie. Russell was set up quite beautifully. He eventually ended up giving a catch to the slip fielder.

Here’s the heartwarming post from Shikhar Dhawan:

Eventually, Carlos Brathwaite bagged a couple of wickets in the final over to hand SRH the much-needed victory.

Shubhman Gill waged a valiant battle. However, the target proved to a bit too much in the end.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad will be wary of the fact that Chennai has beaten them on all the three previous occasions in the tournament.

However, with a bowling line-up like Hyderabad, a turnaround is just around the corner and super Sunday might well turn out to be the day.
