The Sawai Maan Singh Stadium in Jaipur hosted the second-leg of Royal Derby as hosts Rajasthan Royals (RR) clinch a 30-run win to knock out Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) out of the competition.

Batting first, through spirited performances from Rahul Tripathi and Heinrich Klaasen, the Jaipur-based outfit reached a winning total of 164, despite a couple of back-to-back-strikes from Umesh Yadav, which jolted their proceedings.

RCB had to chase down the required target within 16 overs to enhance their chances to qualify to the next stage of the competition.

When AB de Villiers and Parthiv were batting in the middle, RCB looked well on course to achieve the heist. But, rookie Shreyas Gopal changed the complexion of the game with his supreme spell of bowling.

The Karnataka-based leg-spinner blew away the RCB middle order by tricking the likes of AB de Villiers, Colin de Grandhomme, Mandeep Singh and Moeen Ali.

With his match-winning spell, Gopal achieved the best figures (4/16) by uncapped Indians in IPL.

Also, he was awarded Man of the Match title for his game-changing performance in a crunch game.

You can never have a set plan for someone like ABD: Gopal

Obviously feels great. It feels even better than the team needed me and I performed,” Shreyas Gopal told Murali Karthik after receiving his memento.

During the reverse fixture at Bengaluru, Gopal made a reputation for himself by clinching the wickets of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.

Yet again, Shreyas Gopal hogged all the limelight by taking the wicket of AB de Villiers, batting on 53. As a result, Gopal seemed shocked after claiming his wicket on both occasions he faced the Protean.

You can never have a set plan for someone like ABD. So, I was a bit shocked. There was a little bit of help from the wicket. I kept it at the wickets and relied on my googly and flipper,” concluded Shreyas Gopal.
