So, the final list of released and retained players made its way out to the public. A lot of surprising names are on the list, which raised the eyebrows of the analysts and the fans of respective franchises. Of them, we figured out 5 released players who might fail to get bids for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2019).

Here are the 5 released players who might fail to get bids:

The experienced Australian, who ruled the world cricket during his times might fail to get the bid in upcoming auctions. Last year, he got excluded in the first round, but Simon Katich-involved Kolkata Knight Riders bagged him in the second round. With age catching up and a poor outing in the IPL 2018, most probably, he would receive the cold shoulder from franchises.

In the previous edition, he got picked for his base price of INR 2 Crores. Unless any strange plannings from the franchise, one won’t see him tasting the upcoming IPL season.

4. Mitchell Starc:

Yet another Australian fast bowler makes it on the list. Only a few fast bowlers in the world would be rated above him as far as lethal bowling is concerned. Mitchell Starc has such unique skills in his kitty, which makes him the red-hot in any auctions.

However, unfortunately, something or the other reason always kept him out of the Indian Premier League. He has always been the uncertainty as far as availability is concerned. Currently, Starc is facing a few injury issues, which would certainly keep him out of franchise analysts’ ideas.

3. Mustafizur Rahman:

Wondered? But, yes, he might not get the bid for the upcoming edition of the IPL. It is not because of his talent but because of the pressures from the Bangladesh Cricket Board. They always cited participating in IPL left Mustafizur injured, which dented them in international games.

The board also made sure they will send Mustafizur Rahman for a smaller stint in IPL. Certainly, it won’t help any franchise in IPL, as they always backed the players, who will be available for the most part of the tournament. Apart from that, Rahman failed to repeat his magic in IPL 2018.

2. Gautam Gambhir:

It is always sad to see a player like Gautam Gambhir on the released players’ list. Meanwhile, he dropped from KKR setup in the previous year and now, his preferred franchise DD released him after the poor show in IPL 2018.

Meanwhile, Gautam Gambhir was given a chance to lead the team in IPL 2018 but, it didn’t come up well and ended up handing back the captaincy to Shreyas Iyer in the middle of the tournament. He was also not at his best with his batting as well.

1. Yuvraj Singh:

Once, the king of shorter format, now, failing to attract a bid. The fans might miss his onslaught in the upcoming edition. The stylish southpaw has been released by Kings XI Punjab, after his poor display of batting skills in IPL 2018.

The age factor is also one of the main concerns for the franchises to pick Yuvraj Singh. He lost his bowling skills, and also his power-hitting skills waned a bit. All in all, it would be an interesting auction for a few players.
