Team India opening batsman, Shikhar Dhawan, who returned to the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Delhi Daredevils, admitted he can’t wait t take the field for Delhi again.
Meanwhile, ahead of the 2019 edition of the IPL, they have brought a makeover in their outlook. They have changed their name to Delhi Capitals to turn their fortunes for IPL 2019 in the presence of their owners, Parth Jindal, and Kiran Kumar Grandhi. They have brought in Sriram Srinath, who was with Sunrisers Hyderabad to run the cricket operations. While former Australian captain Ricky Ponting continues as the coach, Mohammad Kaif has replaced Pravin Amre as his assistant. Amre’s will now work as a talent scouter for the franchise.
Shikhar Dhawan, however, will return to his native franchise after 11 years. He last donned the Delhi jersey in the inaugural season. Dhawan, who was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2018 auction using their RTM card, released the Indian opener ahead of the mid-December auction. The 2016 IPL champions traded Dhawan with three players from Delhi – Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma.

Delhi, who are yet to lift the illustrious trophy will look forward to Shikhar Dhawan to guide them to their first-ever trophy. Speaking about his return, the southpaw noted that he can’t wait to represent Delhi again.
“As they say, change is the only constant. Can’t wait to play for Delhi again. @DelhiCapitals coming your way!
