Rajasthan Royals (RR) had a woeful start to this edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) and stare a potential ouster from the tournament. Ahead of their next game against Mumbai Indians, all-rounder Ben Stokes has said that they need to treat every game as final to keep themselves in competition for the playoffs.
The Ajinkya Rahane-led side are currently in the seventh spot with four points from eight games. Although the points table suggests that they have played poor cricket which is not exactly true. They have performed well in patches and has lacked consistency since the start of the tournament. Besides, they have also lacked the killer instinct needed to win crunch games in IPL. They need to come out stronger against Mumbai Indians and spoil their party as they cannot afford to lose any more matches.
Ben Stokes, who has not been in good touch in this tournament said that they need to win every game from to give themselves an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs. The English all-rounder said that they have to be positive and aggressive to win matches from here.
“Yes, we are in a must-win situation and we have to treat every match as final and which, I guess, puts any sort of negative thought process above our head. We have only one way to go and that is aggressive and positive,” Stokes said.
Lost games at crucial moments
Furthermore, Ben Stokes stated that Rajasthan Royals have given away matches at crunch situations. Stokes added that they deserve to be in this position as they have not been able to win games when needed to seal on the matches.

“If you look at most of the games we lost, we have lost at the crucial moments. In T20 games two-three or four balls can dictate the winner, and unfortunately, we have not been the team to win those critical moments,” he added.
In conclusion, Ben Stokes admitted that they know what needs to be done when they take on Mumbai at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
