It was a grand day at Singh’s house in Patiala. Two of their sons have made it big in the IPL 2019 auctions. Prabhsimran Singh was bagged by Kings XI Punjab for a massive INR 4.8 Crores while Anmolpreeth Singh was picked for INR 80 Lakhs by Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, Prabhsimran Singh was surprised by his bidding.

The wicketkeeper-batsman from Punjab is yet to have played a single senior-level game for his state but has started featuring in Indian age-group teams over the past year. Last week, Prabhsimran was part of the Indian team that finished runners-up at the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

Prabhsimran Singh, a 17-year old wicket-keeper batsman from Patiala, stole the limelight as he was bought for 4.8 crores by Kings XI Punjab after an intense bidding war that involved several teams.

I don’t even know how many Zeroes present in it – Prabhsimran Singh

Prabhsimran Singh was over the moon after knowing that he was one of the most sought players in the auction. He also informed that IPL wasn’t in his mind as well for the fact that his main aim was to be in the India U19 team.

“My realistic aim was to make the India Under-19 team, so I didn’t really think about the IPL. I don’t know how to react now, I’m not able to believe teams really bid so much for me. After a certain stage, I was like yaar (man), I don’t even know how many zeroes are there!” the ecstatic teenager added.

“I was, in fact, happier that Anmol had been picked, I’d started playing because of him,” Singh added while speaking on Anmolpreet Singh.  When he attended the call, he quoted ”Sorry, sir. This was unexpected, everyone has suddenly started a party here.”

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for the youngster. Hopefully, he will deliver the goods for Kings Xi Punjab to see himself making a bright future ahead.
