He was bought by Kings XI Punjab at his base price of Rs 1 Crore in the auction that was held last year.

Cricket Australia had issued strict guidelines for the players to take in IPL and one of the rules that was to be followed by a player was to play Sheffield Shield.

Since New South Wales reached the final of the tournament, Henriques missed the first two games for his side and is expected to miss few more games.

Apart from him, there is no other player in any of the two teams who are a part of IPL.

Although Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Ashton Turner and Marcus Stoinis are missing IPL as they are playing for Australia against Pakistan in UAE.

They will only land in India after the end of the series.

They will also leave the tournament early and will head back to Australia before May 1 to be part of pre-season camp for World Cup.

Along with them, Steven Smith and David Warner will also leave the tournament early

Cricket Australia only issued NOC to players if they followed the guidelines laid down by the board.

This saw players like Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Mithcell Starc, Pat Cummins and others not putting their names up for auction.

Few players from other counties also opted to stay out due to the World Cup.

Apart from Australia, players from England, South Africa and others will also leave the tournament early.

The likes of Chris Gayle, SHimron Hetmyer and other West Indies players might be allowed to play IPL despite Windies playing a tri-series in Ireland ahead of World Cup.

Kings XI Punjab take on Mumbai Indians in a home game on March 30.

They have played two matches so far.

In the first match against Rajasthan Royals, they broke their losing streak at Sawai Mansingh Stadium and defeated Rajasthan Royals.

In the second match, KXIP lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by 28  runs.

Both the matches were marred by controversies with ‘mankading’ drawing the limelight in their first match.
