Delhi Capitals (DC) clinched a four-wicket victory (with seven balls remaining) against the home team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday (7th April) evening at M Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru).

The visiting captain Shreyas Iyer decided to bowl first after winning the toss. RCB struggled in the first innings and managed to score only 149/8 in 20 overs. DC successfully chased down that target in 18.5 overs after losing six wickets.

ii) With this defeat, RCB has lost their all first six matches in this season. Delhi Daredevils (presently known as Delhi Capitals) had also faced their first six-match losing streak in IPL 2013. No team has lost their all first seven matches in an IPL season.

iii) This defeat was RCB’s seventh consecutive defeat. It is their largest losing streak. In IPL 2017, they faced a six-match losing streak.

i) Before this victory, DC previously beat RCB on 17th April 2016 at Bengaluru. Since then, DC suffered five straight defeats against RCB before their latest victory.

i) The Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada had the impressive bowling figures of 4-0-21-4. It is the new record by a DC bowler against RCB. Their previous record holder was Glenn McGrath who had the bowling figures of 4-0-29-4 against RCB at Delhi on 30th April 2008. Also, it was the second best away bowling figures (excluding the neutral venues) by a pacer from the Delhi franchise. The record holder is Morne Morkel with the bowling figures of 4-0-20-4 against Kings XI Punjab at Dharamsala on 19th May 2012.
