IPL 2019: Match 45, RR vs SRH - Twitter Reacts as Rajasthan Royals Keep Their Hopes Alive Beating Sunrisers Hyderabad
Updated - 03 Oct 2019, 06:38 PM
Rajasthan Royals (RR) once again produced to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets to keep their hopes alive in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Chasing an average total of 161 runs, Ajinkya Rahane and Liam Livingstone set the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on fire. They took on arguably the best bowling attack of the tournament and left them stranded while Livingstone was showing his class. Playing only his second game, Livingstone impressed with his typical strokeplay. Rahane didn’t lag as well as he brought the odd boundaries as well. However, Rashid Khan struck against the run of play to dismiss Livingstone (44 off 26) in the tenth over.

The dismissal of Livingstone triggered another wicket as Shakib Al Hasan got the better of Ajinkya Rahane to have Rajasthan Royals at 93 for two. Since then, skipper Steven Smith combined well with Sanju Samson to lead the charge. They added 55 runs together to almost take the team to the brink of victory before Khaleel Ahmed removed Smith to provide another wicket but by then the game has slipped from Sunrisers Hyderabad’s grip. But Samson stood tall to take his side over the rope without further hiccups.
Previously, the Rajasthan Royals staged a brilliant comeback after David Warner and Manish Pandey staged an excellent platform for the batters to come in. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their skipper Kane Williamson at the score of 28 in 3.5 overs. Since then, Pandey and Warner took on the Rajasthan bowlers to keep the scoreboard ticking. Warner has been ever consistent while Pandey carried precisely from where he left in the last match. They added 75 runs for the second wicket to set the tone. But once Oshane Thomas got Warner out, it was a landslide for the visiting team.
The Rajasthan Royals bowlers were outstanding especially Oshane Thomas and Jaydev Unadkat. Varun Aaron and Shreyas Gopal also chipped in with significant contributions as only Rashid Khan managed to cross the single-digit figure. Rashid’s 8-ball 17 including one four and one six which helped Sunrisers Hyderabad to post 160 runs at the end of 20 overs.

Hadn't seen Liam Livingstone bat but had heard a lot about his ability to hit a cricket ball. He got his favoured batting position today and has shown why he had that reputation.

I am always flummoxed about why Sanju Samson isn't playing at the highest level. He has everything needed. I would be very keen to know what is coming in the way of consistency, which is what is preventing him from being a regular India player.

What a light hearted moment when Ashto Turnor scores his 1st run after consecutive 5 T20 ducks. Royals dug out applauding as he achieved a milestone. #RRvSRH #IPL2019

Whenever I watch Sanju Samson bat, I always feel how on earth he is not representing India in all the three formats, he needs to be taken care of, he is one of the rare classical batsman available in this harakiri style of batsmanship going around. #RRvSRH @bhogleharsha @Sdoull
