IPL 2019: Match 5, Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings – Delhi Capitals Predicted XI
Delhi Capitals (DC) made a stunning start to their 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign. They won their first game of the season for the first time since 2019 beating Mumbai Indians (MI) y 37 runs. Meanwhile, they will be keen to keep on the momentum going when they face defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 26 at the Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.
Although there were a lot of possitives for the Capitals from Sunday’s clash, they need to bat as a unit. The top-order batsmen have failed to put up a good start but got away with it because of Rishabh Pant’s carnage. On the bowling front, they leaked few extra runs here and there which has surely grabbed they eyes of head coach Ricky Ponting.
Delhi Capitals will look to retain the winning combination and pull their socks up when they MS Dhoni & Co on Tuesday.

Shikhar Dhawan played a handy knock on his return to the Delhi franchise. The southpaw will look to build on the confidence against the defending champions at the home ground.
Prithvi Shaw didn’t have a good start to the Indian Premier League campaign as he was out for only seven runs. However, the talented batsman will look to recuperate to get back to scoring ways in the next outing against the Chennai Super Kings.
Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer looked in great touch during his short stay against the Mumbai Indians. However, Iyer needs to stand tall and play big innings and lead the charge with the bat for his side.
With a World Cup spot up for grab, Rishabh Pant made a perfect start to his IPL season. He smacked everything that came his way and will hope to continue on the momentum in the next game against Chennai Super Kings who have some quality spinners in their ranks.
Colin Ingram played a good hand scoring 47 runs and stitching a crucial partnership with Shikhar Dhawa. The South African will look to continue scoring runs and provide stability in the middle-order.
Keemo Paul had an average outing in his debut IPL game. However, the Delhi Capitals management will pin their hopes on the Windies all-rounder to score heavily down the order. He can also bowl gentle medium pace as will work as the fifth pacer of the side.
Axar Patel picked the wicket of Hardik Pandya at the right moment to keep the game in Delhi’s favour. Meanwhile, he is a handy customer in this format and has the ability to contribute in all the departments.
Kagiso Rabada made an outstanding start to IPL 2019 returning with two wickets. He is the main bowler in that Delhi line-up and the management will want him to stay fit and pick wickets with the new ball.
Rahul Tewatia was spectacular on the field last night and would love to keep up the good work. Meanwhile, he has a good leg-break in place and can also chip with some late cameos at the end. Tewatia will aim to contain runs and provide breakthroughs against the Chennai Super Kings.
Trent Boult had a poor outing in the first game but knows how to come back in this kind of high-voltage games. The New Zealander will be keen to pick wickets and play a significant role in the team’s success.
