India’s and Haryana’s fast bowler Mohit Sharma is confident of hitting the ground running in the forthcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Sharma was bought by the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings for INR 5 crores in the IPL auctions. In fact, Mohit had done a great job while playing for the MS Dhoni-led side when he had represented them in the earlier seasons.

Meanwhile, Mohit Sharma is fit again after recuperating from his injury. Thus, he is looking forward to a good show for the defending champions. The Haryana pacer has a good ‘back of the hand slower ball’, which is his most deadly weapon. Furthermore, Mohit can land his deliveries in the block hole in the death overs.

Mohit Sharma will like to hit the ground running.

Mohit Sharma had suffered a back injury in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy while playing against Goa. He trained under the watchful eyes of physiotherapist Nitin Patel in Chennai and he is confident of doing well.

“I’ve known him (Nitin) for the past six years now. He’s based out of Chennai. That’s the reason why I’ve been doing rehab here (Chennai),” Sharma spoke after inaugurating a National level inter-college cricket tournament at the Guru Nanak college.

Meanwhile, Mohit Sharma is making the most of what is on offer. He said he is using the college grounds for his drill and he is back to bowling at full throttle. On the other hand, it was not an easy Ranji Trophy season for Mohit Sharma. Haryana could not qualify for the quarterfinals and finished fifth in the elite group.

“I’ve been using the college ground for the drills. Pre-bowling and bowling stuff. Ranji season had not been easy, but we’ve done decently.”

Mohit is confident Haryana would be able to turn the tables in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to qualify for the Super League. In fact, Haryana is placed in third place in its group. They will lock horns with Karnataka on Saturday.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings will begin their IPL campaign with the first match of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore with the home match at Chepauk. Consequently, Mohit Sharma will like to impress with his performance. The fast bowler has played 84 IPL matches in which he has claimed 90 wickets.
