Recently, BCCI asked all the IPL franchises to submit their retained-players list on or before upcoming November 15th. It also comes to know that the auction is set to be held in Goa on December 16th.

Meanwhile, if the reports in ESPN Cricinfo are to be believed, one of the most successful franchises in the IPL, Mumbai Indians have already started their trading and also planned to leave a couple of the overseas players.

Akila Dananjaya, Mustafizur Rahman released:

They left out Bangladesh fast bowling sensation, Mustafizur Rahman for the upcoming edition. It is believed the decision came because of the pressure of Bangladesh Cricket Board on the youngster.

Recently, the respective board quoted they are in talks to ban Mustafizur Rahman playing in the overseas tournament to avoid the injuries. Especially, with 2019 World Cup around the corner, BCB might not send him.

However, Mustafizur Rahman played in seven matches for Mumbai in IPL 2018 and did considerably well. On the other side, Akil Dananjaya got only one appearance, where he ended up leaking 47 runs in his four-over quota.

In another story, it is learnt that the first trading of Indian Premier League also involved Mumbai Indians. They bagged the services of South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock from Royal Challengers Bangalore.

However, it would be interesting to see the remaining names on the released-players’ list. Most Probably, Gambhir, Manish Pandey and Jaydev Unadkat might be on the list.
