IPL 2019: Rohit Sharma Asks Crowd Support Ahead of Season

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has asked for the supporters to get behind the franchise before the commencement of the 12th season of the Indian Premier League. Rohit said that the fans are like the 12th man of the team, who provide all the support during the course of the league. The crowd support plays a key role in a league like IPL, in which a particular team plays seven of its 14 matches at home.

In fact, we have seen that a home team always holds its wood on the visiting team because of the home support. Furthermore, the hosts are also familiar with their own conditions, which gives them an advantage against the visiting team.

Rohit Sharma has led with aplomb.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma has led the Mumbai Indians with aplomb. Sharma has led his franchise to glory on three occasions in 2013, 2015 and 2017. In fact, Rohit is one of the sole players who has won the title on four occasions. Rohit Sharma was part of the Deccan Chargers team which had won the title in the second edition of the IPL in 2009.

Rohit Sharma said while talking at the Twitter handle of Star Sports, “You are like the 12th man for us, so whenever we play, please provide us with the all the support in our wins as well as the losses. We will also try our best that we don’t disappoint you. We will like to have extended support whenever we come to the field to play”.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians didn’t have the best of previous seasons. The three-times champions could not make their way into the playoff stages after they finished at the fifth position in the points table. They won six matches and went on to lose eight matches out of the fourteen they played.

Consequently, Mumbai Indians will like to turn the tables in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. They have a potent side and would like to hit the ground running.
