Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals both need victories under their belt and a turnaround for the ages to stay in contention for a playoffs spot in IPL 2020. The two teams are in the sixth and seventh in the points table one could sense the clash between them is their final chance of salvaging their faltering campaign. The battle will take place in Abu Dhabi.

Rajasthan Royals have lost two back to back games from staying in a winning position. Nevertheless, in the clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Royals’ batting line-up clicked collectively for the first time after the management promoted Robin Uthappa to the opening position. Skipper Steve Smith also registered his third half-century; however, it was his decision to give Jaydev Unadkat the 19th over that cost the Royals two points.

Chennai Super Kings have a well-rounded team despite which they have remained inconsistent. CSK’s inconsistent batting performances and team combinations have resulted in them lagging in the points table. To make matters worse, their star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo will also not play in the upcoming few games and whose inability to bowl the final over, owing to groin injury against Delhi Capitals cost them the match. Nevertheless, that opens the door for leg-spinner Imran Tahir, who bagged 26 wickets in 2019.

Chennai Super Kings might lead the head to head battle against the Rajasthan Royals; however, Rajasthan Royals are slightly beginning to look settled at this point despite the loss. The Royals will also take confidence from having beaten the Super Kings in their first meeting by 16 runs. Hence, the Royals should start as slight favourites.
