The Chennai Super Kings [CSK] finally announced their arrival in the Dream11 IPL with a thumping ten-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab in Dubai.

The Super Kings will now lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday and it will be interesting to see whether they can emulate their exploits of the last game against KKR.

Here’s a look at CSK’s probable playing XI for their fixture against KKR-

After having gone through a lean-patch in the first fourmatch-winning games of the 2020 season, Shane Watson finally announced himself in the Dream11 IPL, scoring an unbeaten match-winning 83 not-out during his 181-run stand with Faf du Plessis.

CSK and their millions of fans will hope that the Australian all-rounder continues with his form against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Ambati Rayudu scored a match-winning 71 in the opening game against MI before missing out on the next two matches due to a hamstring niggle.

After having managed just 51 runs in 4 innings at an average of 17 and a strike-rate of 108.51, Kedar Jadhav has come in the firing line for his repeated failures this season.

The Maharashtra batsman will hope to finally shrug off his poor form against KKR.

MS Dhoni (C & WK)

MS Dhoni said after the second game that he hasn’t had proper practice in the lead-up to the IPL, and that has been the reason behind him not coming up the order.

Dhoni faced a decent amount of time during the encounter against SRH, where he managed an unbeaten 36-ball 47. Will the charismatic CSK skipper finally turn it on against KKR?

Sam Curran has chipped in with both bat and ball for CSK thus far. Curran has claimed five wickets in as many fixtures and has been used by MSD at the start of the innings as well as at the death.

He was expensive in the last game against KXIP and will be hoping to redeam himself against KKR. As far as his batting is concerned, CSK haven’t made the best use of the English all-rounder and it will be interesting to see if Dhoni does send Curran higher-up in the order.

Dwayne Bravo

DJ Bravo did not have the best of outings in the last game against KXIP.

The West Indian all-rounder gave away 38 runs in his quota of 4 overs without any scalp. Will the champion all-rounder finally make his presence felt in the 2020 IPL against KXIP?

Shardul Thakur was sensational at the death in the last game against KXIP.

His double-strike during his second spell, where he claimed the prized scalps of Nicholas Pooran and KL Rahul, was a major momentum breaker for the Punjab franchise.

MS Dhoni and Stephen Fleming will hope that the right-hander keeps up the good work against a dangerous KKR batting-unit.

Piyush Chawla

Piyush Chawla has chipped in with crucial scalps throughout this IPL for CSK. In the last game, the experienced leg-spinner proved to be the partnership breaker as he dismissed a dangerous-looking Mayank Agarwal.

But Chawla has also been guilty of dishing out too many boundary balls. His economy of 8.88 testifies that to the hilt and it will be interesting to see whether the veteran leggie adds some consistency to his line and lengths in the upcoming games.

Deepak Chahar has thus far claimed 5 wickets in as many games this season at an average of 29.80 and a respectable economy of 7.84.

In the last game against KXIP, Chahar bowled an economical spell of 0-17 in 3 overs but CSK will hope that the right-arm fast bowlers adds some wickets to his tally in the upcoming games.
