MS Dhoni has once again fuelled the retirement rumours amongst the social media users by handing over his signed jerseys to KKR players post CSK’s victory on Thursday. Earlier in the tournament, he signed one for Jos Buttler and then for the Pandya brothers.

This has sparked several speculations about Dhoni’s future with CSK. However, a few days ago, CSK CEO, Kasi Viswanathan has said that he is confident of Dhoni staying and leading CSK next year as well. Former cricketer, Gautam Gambhir too believes that Dhoni might continue leading  CSK for a year or two more.

On Thursday evening in Dubai, CSK registered their fifth win of the season by defeating KKR by 6 wickets in a last-ball thriller. KKR posted a competitive total of 172/5 with the help of Nitish Rana’s 87 and a late flourish by Dinesh Karthik.

CSK got a solid start from openers Shane Watson and Ruturaj Gaikwad with a 50 run opening stand. Ambati Rayudu, who came in at the fall of Watson’s wicket, launched an attack straightaway on the KKR bowlers. The right-hander perished trying one shot too many for a 20-ball-38.

Ruturaj Gaikwad completed his second consecutive fifty, but then CSK lost three wickets in quick succession. The game seemed to be in KKR’s pocket with 30 required off the last two overs. However, Ravindra Jadeja continued his splendid form with the bat this season smashing the Ferguson and Nagarkoti in the last two overs. The left-hander finished the game with two sixes on the final two deliveries of the match.
