IPL 2020: CSK Spinner R Sai Kishore Reveals That MS Dhoni Kept Them Motivated During Their Stay In The Bio-Secure Bubble

Despite coming off a glorious outing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, R Sai Kishore could not get a game in IPL 2020. R Sai Kishore was part of Chennai Super Kings and was one of those who warmed the bench for the entire season. The off-spinner revealed that staying in bio-bubble was challenging; however, MS Dhoni kept the players motivated.

The 2019 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy saw R Sai Kishore end with 20 wickets in 12 games at 10.40 with one four-wicket haul, finishing with the highest number. The off-spinner also maintained an economy rate of 4.63, which made him one of the hottest picks in the auction. The yellow army acquired him at INR 20 lakhs only; however, the presence of Ravindra Jadeja, Piyush Chawla, and Karn Sharma kept him out.

R Sai Kishore revealed that the team management ensured they got the best facilities for practice and had excellent practice sessions before the season. They also played warm-up matches before the tournament; hence, he credited the management for the same. The 24-year old underlined that MS Dhoni believes in the process and emphasized on playing good and competitive cricket.

“Our team management ensured that we got the best facilities. I think we had excellent practice sessions before the season. We also played some practice matches before the tournament. So credit to the team management for looking after us well. Dhoni is someone who emphasises more on the process. He always asked us to focus on competing and playing good cricket,” Sai Kishore said as quoted by News Indian Express.

The Tamil Nadu off-spinner felt delighted to see Ruturaj Gaikwad for overcoming the COVID-19 infection and playing admirably well. Having known him since U-19 days, R Sai Kishore hopes that Gaikwad moves from strength to strength in the coming years.

“Happy for Gaikwad for the way he fought the infection and played admirably. He is a class player whom I have admired from the under-19 days. Knowing him personally, I wish him more good times in the future,” he added.
