Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is hopeful Trent Boult’s groin strain is not serious and the pacer would recover in time to play in the final of the IPL 2020 on November 10. Mumbai Indians, on Thursday, thrashed Delhi Capitals by 57 runs to book a place in the IPL final for the fifth time.

Their win, however, became a bit sour after Trent Boult’s injury. The pacer had to walk off the field during the 14th over of Delhi Capitals’ innings after picking up the groin injury. He didn’t return to the field for the remainder of the game.

After the end of the game, Rohit Sharma gave an update on the pacer. While he could not confirm the extent of the injury, he did say that Boult is okay and the injury is not problem. Rohit Sharma is hopeful the left-arm pacer would recover before the final.

“I’ve not seen him (Boult). But he seems okay. I don’t think it’s a big problem. Three day rest and he should be back on the park,” said Rohit Sharma.

The Mumbai Indians skipper further lavished praise on Boult and Jasprit Bumrah after the duo blew away Delhi. Boult picked up 2 wickets for 9 runs off two overs while Bumrah picked up 4 for just 14 off his four overs as Delhi Capitals finished on 143 for 8 while chasing 201.

“Bumrah and Boult have been in solid form. They play for different teams so they have different plans. We as a team have different plans and it’s great to see them execute those,” he said.
