SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) will host Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their inaugural fixture of the IPL 2020 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Thursday. SRH will vie for their second title in IPL while RCB will try to get off the mark. Bowlers will play a key role in the slow pitch conditions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
SRH have a brilliant bowling line-up under the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Khaleel Ahmed. The Afghan spin twins of Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan can come in handy and also back their batsmen like David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. Let us have a look at how SRH can shape up for the match.
Australia opener David Warner is a prolific batsman to have at the top of the order. He had played some match-winning knocks for SRH in the previous edition of the IPL and will look to continue from where he left. Warner is a destructive batsman at the top of the order and if he unleashes himself then SRH can put up big totals on board.
England top-order batsman Jonny Bairstow plays perfect second fiddle to Warner and the duo compliment each others game. Bairstow and Warner had notched up some decisive partnerships in the previous edition of IPL. The pair had shown that they can build up a 100-run stand with ease and SRH will be hoping that the duo continues to do so.
Wriddhiman Saha (wk)
Wriddhiman Saha will bat at an important position for SunRisers Hyderabad. He will be the wicket-keeper batsman for the side and will hope to get the scoreboard ticking for his side. Saha also has a century in the IPL and with a decent strike rate, he can add vital runs to the team’s tally.
Virat Singh, all of 22-year-old, is an exciting talent in the SRH franchise. He has the ability to hit the ball all over the park and has shown his capability for the youth team. Singh will be hoping to add tempo through his quick-fire knocks for SRH.
Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh will be one of the four overseas players to be named in the SunRisers Hyderabad line-up. He can contribute with the bat and ball for the Hyderabad franchise. His quick-fire cameos can help the side propel to a bigger total and he can also prove to be handy with the ball.
Vijay Shankar, the three dimensional player, will look to make impact with his tweaked bowling action. Shankar has focused primarily to remain fit during the lockdown and wants to make the most of his opportunity in the IPL 2020. He could turn out to be an utility player for SRH in the upcoming season.
Shankar can score down the order and is capable of the big hits. He, however, is focusing to improve his bowling. He admitted that he can bowl a lot quicker if he chooses to increase his pace and thus putting the hard yards.
Rashid Khan, after featuring in the CPL 2020, will look to weave his magic in the IPL 2020. He has proved his spin bowling prowess in franchise leagues around the world and has emerged as of the finest spinners on the international cricket. Rashid has an experience of playing 211 T20s where he has picked up 296 wickets. As far as his national team is concerned, he has 23 wickets in Test, 133 in ODIs and 89 in the shortest format of the game.
Premier India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be spearheading the fast bowing attack for SunRisers Hyderabad, as usual, in the IPL 2020. Bhuvneshwar will look to get early breakthroughs for the side with his ability to move the ball both ways.
Siddarth Kaul will be hoping for an improved show in the IPL 2020. He has been known for leaking away a lot of runs but this time around he will hope to better his bowling and help his side with his brilliance.
Khaleel Ahmed rose up to the ranks after his brilliant bowling for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) which helped him find a place in the national team squad. The lanky left-handed pacer will look to hit the right areas and make the batsmen toil for runs.
