James Neesham, who is one of the consistent performers for New Zealand in the game of cricket, is expected to cause a bidding war in the upcoming IPL 2020 Auction. However, the all-rounder isn’t expecting much from the auction, as he believes IPL auctions are always unpredictable.

In the 2019 World Cup, the left-handed batsman was the third-highest run-getter for New Zealand with 232 runs in 10 matches. And also, with his right-arm medium pace, James Neesham had taken 15 wickets for his nation. Thus, he can prove to be a valuable commodity for a lot of IPL teams in the upcoming season.

IPL Auction is unpredictable – James Neesham

The Indian fans are very sure about the participation of the all-rounder in the upcoming season of IPL. Replying to an Indian fan, the Kiwi all-rounder said that he isn’t sure about the selection as he felt IPL auction is so unpredictable. Recently, he was on the news for similar stuff when he indirectly expressed his interest in plying his trade for Sunrisers Hyderabad rather than playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The Kiwi all-rounder was snapped up by the Delhi franchise in the 2014 IPL auctions. He featured in just four games for them that season, managing 42 runs at a strike rate of under 100. The numbers are so underwhelming, which made Delhi release him for the next season. Later, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in the following season.

However, he did not play a single game for the franchise and has never been seen in India’s marquee T20 league since. A hard-hitting southpaw and a handy quick bowler, New Zealand’s Jimmy Neesham possess all the skills needed to master the T20 format of the game.
