IPL 2018: 34th Match, KXIP vs MI - Mumbai Indians Predicted XI

Mumbai Indians (MI) will face the in-form Kings XI Punjab in a must-win encounter in the 34th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.

The reigning champions have discovered new lows as they have won only two matches out of the eight. Thus, Rohit Sharma led team is languishing at the bottom of the points table.

On the other hand, Punjab is in prime form in this ongoing season. Ravichandran Ashwin led team has won five matches out of the seven they have played. Thus, they look settle to make their way into the playoff stage.

All is not yet lost for the Indians but they will have to pull off a miracle to qualify for the final four.

Men in Blue will have to win all their remaining six matches – to make their way into the playoff stages.

Here is a look at the Predicted Playing XI of the Mumbai Indians:

Evin Lewis:

Evin Lewis was injured and thus he was not available for the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Hence, he could not make the cut into playing XI.

However, the Windies southpaw batsman should make his way back into the final XI if he gets recovered.

Suryakumar Yadav:

Suryakumar Yadav has been excellent at the top of the order.

The right-hander has given a good start to the defending champions while batting at the top of the order.

Ishan Kishan:

Ishan Kishan has had some failures in the last couple of matches.

However, the young wicketkeeper-batsman will like to find his form back for the team.

Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma has been a lone warrior in the middle order for the Mumbai-based outfit.

Skipper had got a peach of a delivery in the last match as he was dismissed for a golden duck.

JP Duminy:

Jean-Paul Duminy has got a chance in a couple of matches. The veteran South African batsman can provide the solidarity to the Mumbai’s middle order.

Moreover, Duminy can also chip in with a couple of overs.

Kieron Pollard:

Kieron Pollard had made his way back into the playing XI in the last match after getting dropped against CSK.

The Windies all-rounder is not in the best of a form but Mumbai is expected to play, as he has the ability to change the complexion of the game.

Hardik Pandya:

Hardik Pandya had a good last match against RCB. The all-rounder scalped three wickets to go with a half-century.

But Pandya was not able to take his team over the line.

Krunal Pandya:

Krunal Pandya also could not give finishing touches to the Mumbai Indians innings in the last match.

The off-spinner went wicketless but he was economical in his spell as he conceded only 24 runs in his allotted four overs.

Mitchell McClenaghan:

Mitchell McClenaghan’s last over proved to be costly in the previous match. The New Zealand fast bowler will like to make a better contribution against KXIP.

Mayank Markande:

Mayank Markande is the find of the season thus far. The leg-spinner has bowled in the right areas which have yielded results for him.

Jasprit Bumrah:

Jasprit Bumrah had a good last game as he scalped one wicket and gave away only 22 runs.

Bumrah is serving as a premium fast bowler for Mumbai Indians and would like to lead from the front.
