The 2020 season of the Indian Premier League [IPL] saw plenty of bowlers leave their mark with their skills, talent, and temperament.

While the likes of Rashid Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Varun Chakravarthy spun a web around the batsmen, as far as the fast bowling is concerned, T Natarajan impressed with his ability to nail in yorkers at will and the likes of Kagiso Rabada, Jasprit Bumrah, and Jofra Archer did what they always d0- pick up wickets amidst sustained hostility.

Eventually, won the coveted ‘Purple Cap’ to join an elite list of bowlers who had achieved the same feat in the past seasons.

On that note, here’s a look at the list of all ‘Purple Cap’ winners in IPL from 2008 to 2020:

Sohail Tanvir was one of the cornerstones of the Rajasthan Royals title-winning campaign in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League.

The Pakistani fast bowler claimed a total of 22 wickets in a mere 11 games at an average of 12.09 and a barely believable economy rate of 6.46. His best figures of 6-14 stood the test of time for 11 years before it was eventually broken by Alzarri Joseph, who claimed 6-12 against the SunRisers Hyderabad in the 2019 season.
