In addition to providing entertainment to the fans and giving platforms for the new talents to make an impression, the Indian Premier League has also totally changed the lives of several players who belonged to very humble backgrounds. And one such individual is fast-bowler Nathu Singh.

Relatively unknown in the cricketing circles, the pacer from Rajasthan first hogged the limelight when he was bought for a whooping Rs 3.20 crore by Mumbai Indians during the 2016 auctions. It was a remarkable turnaround in fortunes of a family whose sole earning member that is Nathu’s father was a factory worker and earned only Rs 8,000 per month before Nathu made it big in the game.

However, despite going through the financial crisis, Nathu’s family always backed him with reports from Jansatta.com claiming that his father was even ready to sell the shanty the family owned. Well, the family is now reaping the rewards for not losing the battle against the financial hardship as they are now leaving a good life due to Nathu’s earnings.

The news outlet further claimed that Nathu is now constructing a house for the family in Jaipur, which is likely to cost him Rs 1.5 crore.

Nathu, meanwhile, first proved his immense potential with figures of 7 for 87 on debut against Delhi in Ranji Trophy 2015-16. As a result, he was included in the Board President XI’s squad for a two-day warm-up fixture against the visiting South Africans and made an immediate impact with his pace. So far, he has played 13 first-class games, taking 30 wickets with the help of two five wicket hauls. He has also picked up 20 wickets in 15 list A games.
