Ishan Kishan Appointed as the Skipper of Board President's XI

Young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has been entrusted with the opportunity to lead the Board President’s XI against South Africa A side in a practice game at the end of this month.

The squad also includes Siddhesh Lad, a member of the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad in the Indian Premier League. Gloveman Ishan was part of triumphant India A side which won the limited-overs series against England A very recently.

The hard-hitting batsman got only a couple of opportunities during the series. Rishabh Pant was the preferred wicketkeeper ahead of Kishan. The southpaw scored a 46-ball 51 against England Cricket Board (ECB) XI in the opening game.

Kishan remained unbeaten on 21 during the next opportunity he got against the Windies A. He further enjoyed a very good time behind the stumps in his second match.

Kishan inflicted four dismissals through the innings. Ishan, who recently turned 20 had a wonderful time with the Indians squad during the IPL.

He scored a record-equaling half-century against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in one of the group matches was one of the best innings in the tournament.

Promising prospect smashed international star Kuldeep Yadav for four consecutive sixes. Meanwhile it must be noted that this is not the first time that the southpaw has been asked to lead a side.

Ishan was the captain of the Indian U-19 team during the 2016 U-19 World Cup. Meanwhile, his former teammates Anmolpreet Singh and Ricky Bhui also found a spot in the,e squad.

Meanwhile, Lad has scored heaps of runs in the premier domestic competition Ranji Trophy. He will definitely see this as an opportunity to find himself back in the contention for a place in India A squad. Belgaum in Karnataka will host the final from July 30.
