Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant has been going through a pretty tough time in the past year-or-so. The southpaw, who rose to fame courtesy his whirlwind performances in the Indian Premier League, made a sensational start to his Test career as he became the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a hundred in England and Australia.

But since then, it has all been downhill for Pant as a slew of underwhelming performances with the bat coupled with equally inept wicketkeeping saw him lose his place to KL Rahul in the white-ball set-up. Pant did not feature in any of the white-ball games that India played in New Zealand and although he did make a return to the Test side after having warmed the bench in the home season, his batting wasn’t up to scratch.

The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League was pretty crucial for Pant but with the season postponed for indefinite period, the southpaw would be incredibly dissapointed.
