On a day when the entire country united in order to show respect for the heroes who are helping India fight against the coronavirus pandemic, some managed to find reasons to bring the communal factor once again. PM Narendra Modi, on Thursday, addressed the nation on the outbreak. Mr Modi announced a ‘Janta (public) Curfew’ on Sunday (March 22).
In an attempt to contain the spread of coronavirus, which has affected over 400 in India, he requested all the citizens to abide by the ‘Janata Curfew’ on March 22 from 7 am till 9 pm. In the 30-minutes television address, the PM started by highlighting the gravity of the situation – that coronavirus disease Covid-19 has affected more people than the two World Wars. He then talked about what to do during the Janata Curfew and also asked people to thank the healthcare workers and others for their services at 5 PM.
The entire country responded brilliantly to the call from the PM. The entire country thanked the healthcare workers and servicemen who are sticking their neck out amidst the coronavirus outbreak and many celebrities, too, joined in. Cricketer Mohammad Kaif was also one of them. The former India cricketer along with his family came to the balcony at 5 PM and joined the nation. Later, he took to Twitter to post a video of his family at the balcony clapping for the servicemen and wrote:
“Out in the balcony to thank one and all who are leaving no stone unturned to make India Corona free. ??????#JantaCurfew #5baje5minute #Covid_19india.”

But to everyone’s surprise, he was attacked by rabid Islamists for his brilliant gesture. The fanatics accused him of forgetting his roots after having earned so much money. One of them even attacked Mohammad Kaif’s wife. Mohammad Kaif was also asked to recite namaaz to fight coronavirus.
Here are some of the reactions to Mohammad Kaif’s tweet:
