The regular skipper of the Indian National Cricket Team Virat Kohli will be out of the action for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. The flamboyant cricketer has played a lot of cricket for the team in the past few months, thus, he was offered to take rest for the short format and get back when the Test series gets started. Meanwhile, Liton Das of Bangladesh feels it really doesn’t matter for them.

Workload management of the players has been a priority with the team under Kohli and while most of the senior players have had a break on and off, Kohli last took a break in January when he sat out the final two ODIs against New Zealand and the T20I series that followed.

In the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma will be leading the side. In fact, Rohit Sharma also played a non-stop cricket but staying in and out of the team during Test matches has seen him getting enough rest to be available for the series against Bangladesh.

We have to play with what we have – Liton Das

Indians might miss him in the action but for the visitors, it hardly matters. Ahead of the series-opening T20I in New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, Liton Das feels Virat Kohli’s absence from the series was the last thing in the Bangladesh cricketers’ mind.

“It doesn’t really matter whether Kohli is playing or not honestly,” said Liton Das after Bangladesh’s first practice session on Thursday. If he has decided to rest, there must be a reason, we are not concerned about that.

”Every player has his own body to look after to. And it’s not like India are weak in his absence. They have a lot of good players on their team. We are short of our most experienced players from this series. So ultimately we have to play with what we have,” Liton added.

Well, it would be an interesting series with Bangladesh players eager to perform in the absence of Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan. The first T20I will be played on Sunday at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

I just love what I script. Over the years, Cricket has been my passion and crisping articles on it gives me an immense pleasure...Cheers...!!!
