It is safe to say that KL Rahul already has an impressive CV in Tests as far as centuries are concerned. In his very second Test, he registered a brilliant century against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

In his start-stop Test career, Rahul has scored three more centuries with two of them coming outside India.

The second one came in Sri Lanka during the tour of 2015 when he hit 108. During the Windies tour in 2016, he scored 158.

Well, the right-handed batsman Rahul is now eyeing something which is nothing less than a dream for batsmen across the world.

In a recent interview, Rahul expressed his desire of seeing his name on the Lord’s honours board – a feat that even the legendary Sachin Tendulkar could not achieve.

Rahul said it is a dream to play at the iconic stadium and score a ton.

“England tour is going to be a huge series, a make or break series for individuals especially. It will be a massive challenge for me and since the start, it has been one of my dreams to play at the Lords, how would it feel to play at that iconic stadium,” Rahul told India TV.

“When I got my first hundred, they write the name over there on the board, it was an emotional moment. Be it anywhere in India, having my name inscribed on the board was a special moment for me. Lord’s is an iconic venue and for many cricketers, there is no other place than to perform there,” he added.

Rahul further recalled India’s famous win at the Lord’s way back in the 2002 Natwest series final. After the historic win, the then skipper Sourav Ganguly had famously taken his shirt off at Lord’s balcony.

Recalling the game, he said:  “I remember seeing Yuvi and Kaif winning the NatWest finals for India. Sourav Ganguly taking off his shirt and whirling it around. It’s a challenge for everyone and we have a month to prepare. Use the time to work out and plan how to be successful there.”

India will play three Twenty20 Internationals and as many One-day Internationals before five Tests against England. Virat Kohli & Co. will play their second Test match at the Lord’s, which is considered to be the ‘Mecca of Cricket’.

Rahul is yet to cement his place in the Test team. However, he would hope he gets a chance in England after his stunning showing in the IPL. The Kings XI opener scored a staggering 659 runs in 13 games.
