The young spinner of England Jack Leach hospitalised in New Zealand with Gastroenteritis. The left-arm spinner set to be under the supervision of the doctors until he feels comfortable to be back on the field. Earlier, he was left out from the playing XI following his poor show in the first Test.

Leach’s condition may be complicated a little by the fact he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease – an inflammatory bowel disorder, as a teenager. Recently, Jack Leach admitted “it’s something I’m always battling a bit” in an interview with the BBC.

Jack Leach started feeling unwell after the first session –

Leach was left out of the playing XI but began to feel sick at the end of the first session of play on Saturday (November 30). England’s medical staff decided to take Jack Leach to the hospital, and it is expected that he will remain there overnight. Leach recorded figures of 2-153 in England’s innings defeat in the first Test at Bay Oval last week.

A short ECB statement read: ‘Jack Leach has been admitted to hospital suffering from gastroenteritis. He started feeling unwell after the first session today. He is likely to stay in hospital overnight.’

Getting into the details of the match, England, who went with 4 fast bowlers did decent enough to restrict New Zealand for 375 runs on the board. Tom Latham was the star performer with a brilliant 105 to his name while Ross Taylor, BJ Watling and Daryl Mitchell scored individual fifties.

For England, Stuart Broad was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets to his name. Apart from him, Chris Woakes bagged three wickets while Sam Curran chipped in with a couple of wickets. However, England failed to get the proper start with the bat, having lost Sibley and Joe Denly for cheap scores.
