West Indies captain Jason Holder, who was roped in as a replacement for Mitchell Marsh, made his first appearance in IPL since 2016. His appearance for SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) turned out to be a memorable one as his side beat Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets to stay afloat in the competition.

Jason Holder impressed with his bowling performance as he returned figures of 3/33 in the stipulated four overs. Holder has been one of the top notch all-rounders in the international circuit and his inclusion in the side adds a major boost. The West Indies’ player is also happy about his return.

I wanted to get back to IPL for a long time: Jason Holder

Holder said that it is pleasing to return to IPL. He also added that he waited for a long time for his return. Holder was also happy to contribute immediately with his return in the lucrative tournament and said that he was grateful for the opportunity. Besides that Holder also left the vacation to join the IPL.

“Yeah, it’s pleasing. Obviously, it had been a while since I played in the IPL. I wanted to get back to IPl for a long time. It was really good to get an opportunity here even though it was through an injury. Nevertheless, I am grateful for the opportunity. Glad I came in, I was able to make an impact on the game,” Holder told Vijay Shankar during an interaction for IPL.

“I left vacation to come here and play, left the missus. It was hard enough making the decision to come over and play. I am glad I did and making use of the opportunity is a pleasing feeling.”

Holder has played 12 matches in the IPl thus far and picked up eight wickets.
