Jason Holder Joins Sydney Sixers For Big Bash League Edition 2020-21

Defending champions Sydney Sixers have made one of the smartest signings ahead of the 2020-21 season of the Big Bash League. Sydney Sixers have roped in the West Indian Test captain and all-rounder Jason Holder for the same and will appear for his first stint in the BBL. Currently, Holder is with the national team in New Zealand, where the team will play in two Test matches.

Jason Holder would be available for the three-time champions for their clash against the Adelaide Strikers in Hobart on December 20th before moving to Gold Coast to play the Melbourne Stars on December 26th followed by locking horns with Melbourne Renegades on December 29th. In fact, the Sixers also start the BBL 2020-21 against the Hurricanes at the Blundstone Arena on December 10th.

The 29-year old was part of SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020 wherein he bowled exceedingly well and played a crucial role in the franchise reaching the knockouts. In seven matches, the Barbadian snared 14 wickets in seven games at 16.64. Holder also made some key contributions with the bat that helped the SunRisers get over the line in close matches.

Jason Holder underlined that he feels excited to play in the BBL and in particular with the Sydney Sixers. The 29-year old wanted to do it for a few years now and hopes to make a significant impact to their cause. Holder went on to highlight Sixers’ success in the tournament history and is looking forward to play with captain Moises Henriques, who he has played with together in SunRisers Hyderabad.

“I’m really excited to be coming to the BBL and in particular the Sydney Sixers. I’ve wanted to for a few years now and this year I have the opportunity to come in and make some appearances and hopefully do a bit for the Sixers. BBL cricket is an interest for me and the Sixers have been successful over the past few years. Moises and I played together at Sunrisers and I really enjoyed that. It will be good to do it again,” Holder said as quoted by Mid-day.
