Jasprit Bumrah Keen To Get Better With His Yorkers

Jasprit Bumrah has emerged to be India’s top-class bowler across formats in recent times. He has been the go-to bowler for the Men in Blues and had an outstanding time in the recently concluded World Cup. Bumrah is one of the best in the business when it comes to consistency and bowling yorkers in the death overs. However, the top-ranked ODI bowler is keen to get better with his yorkers.

Bumrah eager to improve his yorkers

The India pacer finished with 18 wickets – the highest by an Indian in the World Cup. Ever since making his international debut, Jasprit Bumrah has made rapid progress. He has scalped 49 wickets across 10 Tests in addition to 103 wickets in 58 ODIs and 51 wickets in 42 T20Is. Bumrah has played continuous cricket in the last few years and, as a result, the selectors have decided to rest him for the upcoming limited-overs series against West Indies.

Jasprit Bumrah credited his teammate at Mumbai Indians in the IPL, Lasith Malinga for his success in international cricket. He also credited the former Sri Lankan for helping him grow his yorkers. Bumrah also admitted that he is good at bowling yorkers but also wants to improve his variations.

“I started playing cricket with the tennis ball and the most useful delivery then to pick up wickets was the yorkers, so I stuck to that. When I came to IPL and played in the same team with Malinga, he showed me the importance of bowling accurate yorkers. I think I am decent with the delivery but I want to get better,” Bumrah said to Cricket Country.

Furthermore, Jasprit Bumrah declined any rumours about the alleged rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. He said that they are a happy bunch which is the USP of India’s success. Bumrah recently won the 2019 Youth Icon award at the ‘Forbes India 30 Under 30’ in Mumbai.

“The best thing is that as a team we are happy as a bunch. The start has been a good one for me but the journey is still long,” Bumrah concluded.
