Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan believes Jasprit Bumrah’s awkward action is an advantage for him. Jasprit Bumrah has a stuttering action and the way he starts his run-up, it is hard to believe he can clock speed in excess of 140 km/h. However, Bumrah is a bowler who generates great momentum when he is in his delivery stride.

Furthermore, Bumrah has a wayward action and it is not easy for the batsmen to pick him up. He can be really quick and the batsman needs to be on their feet while facing him. Moreover, Bumrah is generally right on the money and keeps breathing down the neck of the opposition batsmen.

Bumrah is the best in business.

Consequently, Bumrah’s record speaks for himself. He has made a fine start to his Test career and he is only going to get better with time.

Zaheer Khan stated that Bumrah is a special talent and he has added new arrows to his quiver.

“He (Bumrah) is a special talent, he has got that awkward action which works as an advantage for him over the batsmen. He is keen to learn and drive to excel. He has been working on his fitness, adding new things to his bowling. He has evolved as a bowler in a short time, that have been the keys to success,” Zaheer told PTI on Monday.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah has the hunger to keep improving himself. He keeps getting better with every match and the attitude to keep working hard on his bowling separates him from the rest. Bumrah is asking the right questions from the batters and he has done a fine job for the Indian team.

“It is about how you take things into stride and what kind of approach you have. I think Bumrah has shown all the attitude of achieving that success,” added the 40-year-old former pacer.

Jasprit Bumrah is at the numero uno position in the ICC ODI rankings. Furthermore, India’s gun pacer is in third place in the ICC Test rankings. Bumrah will be in action in the first Test match against South Africa which will take place at Vishakhapatnam from October 2.
