Javagal Srinath, S Ravi Retained in ICC Elite Panel of Match Officials

Javagal Srinath and Sundaraman Ravi got retained in ICC Elite panel of match officials.

Thus, the former Indian fast bowler, Javagal Srinath will continue to hold the office of a match referee. Furthermore, Sundaram Ravi will continue to be India’s representative for the top ICC umpires.

In fact, the International Cricket Council (ICC) have announced an unchanged list for the 2018-19 season. The officials will hold office from 1st July 2018 to 30 June 2019.

The governing body confirmed that this was done after an annual retention and selection process.

The ICC Umpires Selection Panel consisted of Chairman and ICC General Manager Cricket, Geoff Allardice.

Furthermore, ICC Chief Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle, former England player, and commentator David Lloyd were part of the panel. Former India captain and international umpire Srinivas Venkataraghavan was also part of the jury.

The umpires’ panel includes Aleem Dar, Kumar Dharmasena, Marais Erasmus, Chris Gaffaney, Ian Gould. Moreover, Richard Illingworth, Richard Kettleborough, Nigel Llong, Bruce Oxenford, Ravi, Paul Reiffel and Rod Tucker.

The panel of ICC Match Referees comprises David Boon, Chris Broad, Jeff Crowe, Ranjan Madugalle, Andy Pycroft, Javagal Srinath and Richie Richardson, who are all former Test players.

There is no doubt that umpires do a thankless job. With new technology coming to the fore, they are always under the scanner for their decision making.
