Mumbai’s opening batsman, Jay Bista grabbed a sensational one-handed catch in a Ranji Trophy match between Tamil Nadu and Mumbai. The incident took place on the last delivery of the 83rd over when Baba Indrajith played an off-drive and the ball took a slight edge of the bat and Bista made no mistake at second slip. Royston Dias’ over the wicket angle proved to play a pivotal role in this dismissal. Mumbai are in a dominant position as they lead Tamil Nadu by 239 runs.

Mumbai have gained a strong grip over the ongoing match. Having batted first, Mumbai posted a humongous total of 488 runs in their first innings. Captain Aditya Tare played a brilliant knock of 154 runs to help Mumbai post a huge first innings total. Apart from him, Shams Mulani played a handy innings of 87 runs. Shashank Attarde added a crucial half century lower down the order.

Mumbai bowlers toiled hard on the third day of the game. They kept clinching wickets on regular intervals and Tamil Nadu’s batsmen never really looked comfortable with the bat. At the end of Day three, Mumbai restricted Tamil Nadu at 249 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Kaushik Gandhi was the pick of the batsmen as he scored a valiant knock of 60 runs.

The moment of the day, however, belonged to Jay Bista who grabbed an absolute blinder at second slip. His catch is being termed by many as the catch of the season. He dismissed Indrajith off Royston Dias in the 83rd over. Mumbai are now in the driver’s seat as they lead Tamil Nadu by 239 runs. Day four will play a crucial role in deciding the course of the game.
