Jemimah Rodrigues And Shafali Verma Make Massive Gains In T20 Rankings

Team India cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma made massive gains in the latest released MRF Tyres ICC T20 Rankings for Women’s. They made significant contributions with the bat as India rout West Indies 5-0 in the five-match Twenty20 International series. The recent outings will boost India’s confidence three months ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 in February.

Jemimah Rodrigues makes massive progress

Jemimah jumped three places to the fourth position while teenage sensation Verma has gained 57 slots to reach 30th position. India leapfrogged West Indies to the fourth position in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings. Shafali Verma finished as the highest run-scorer in the series with 158 runs and earned the man of the series award while Jemimah Rodrigues scored 96 runs including a fifty in the last match. Veda Krishnamurthy, who scored 77 runs including a match-winning 57 in the final match to move from 61st to 49th.

In the bowler’s chart, there are now three Indian bowlers in the top five as left-arm spinner Radha Yadav has moved up from the fifth spot to second. Deepti Sharma, who took eight wickets in the series, has retained the fourth position while Poonam Yadav is fifth in the chart. Off-spinner Anuja Patil (jumped up eight places to 21st) and fast bowler Shikha Pandey (moved up 11 places to 43rd) too have made notable progress in the latest rankings.

In the team rankings, India have gained eight points to move up to 260 and fourth position while the West Indies are now fifth at 248 after losing 10 points.
