Jonty Rhodes Has The Cutest Birthday Message For 'Chhota Bhaee' Suresh Raina

Out-of-favour India batsman Suresh Raina turned 33 on Wednesday (November 27). The left-handed  batsman is currently out of action as he is working hard to regain fitness after he underwent a knee surgery earlier this year. An important member of the team that won the title in 2011 and made it to the semifinal four years later, Suresh Raina has fallen down the pecking order in the last two years or so.

The selectors handed him a lifeline by naming him as Ambati Rayudu’s replacement for the England series after the former failed to clear the yo-yo test last year. With India in dire need of a reliable number four batsman, the southpaw had the chance to seal his spot in the team. However, he failed miserably with the bat.

Suresh Raina managed to score just 47 runs in the three-match series and was immediately dropped. He is yet to receive a recall from the ODI team or the T20I team since then and is unlikely to get a recall any time soon. All Raina can do now is to do well in domestic circuit and the Indian Premier League and hope for the best.

Jonty Rhodes’ birthday message for Suresh Raina:

Unsurprisingly, Raina was flooded with birthday greetings on Wednesday. Cricketers as well as fans and others took to Twitter to wish Raina and make his special day even more special. But Jonty Rhodes’ message for the birthday boy was perhaps better than everyone else.

Calling Raina chhota bhaee which means younger brother, the South Africa legend wished him a wonderful birthday. Rhodes also said that just like Raina’s fans, he too wishes to see the batsman perform at his best again, writing:
