Jos Buttler Feels His Test Recall Against Pakistan is Equal to Making Debut Again

England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler, who feels like making Test debut yet again after being introducing in the squad for Pakistan series. Buttler was recalled to the England Test squad after a prolonged gap of almost 18 months.

The gloveman had played his last Test match in India at Chennai in December 2016.

Since then, Buttler hasn’t received an opportunity in the longest format of the game.

Moreover, the combative batsman had shifted his focus to the limited-overs form. Thus, the Test recall has come as a bolt from the blue for him.

Perfect opportunity for Jos Buttler to leave his mark:

Meanwhile, Jos Buttler had a fine season in the Indian Premier League (IPL), as he accumulated 548 runs in the 13 matches. Buttler’s fine form in the IPL played a role in getting him a place in the 15-man England squad for the impending Test series against Pakistan.

The first Test will be played at the home of cricket, Lord’s, and Buttler is expected to bat at number seven position.

“It’s a fantastic surprise and an incredible opportunity awarded to me. Any time you turn up here at Lord’s it’s special, and all of those emotions are arriving today. It feels like another debut really. It wasn’t, particularly on my radar,” he told in a press conference quoted by Daily Mail.

Buttler had almost given up on his dream to represent England in the red ball form. However, the pugnacious batsman believes that it is a perfect opportunity for him.

Buttler is enthralled to wear the England whites again.

“You always think maybe that race is run and will never happen again. It’s not that you live with regrets, but you definitely miss it. To get that call the overriding emotion was excitement…I came for a hit here on Saturday. Turning up here on England duty to play a Test match is unbelievable,” he added.

Buttler has thus far played only 18 Test matches for the England team in which he has scored 784 runs at an average of 31.34. It is a dream of every player to feature in the longest form if gentleman’s game and Buttler is once again given the opportunity to live his dream.

Jos  Buttler would like to grab the opportunity with both his hands. The exciting prospect would definitely like to leave an impact in the English Test team.
