‘When it gets tough, the tough gets going’ South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada [4-29] proved it to the hilt today as he spearheaded the Delhi Capitals bowling unit with disdain in the all-important Qualifier 02 against the SunRisers Hyderabad.

After coping with a few tough outings leading into Qualifier 02, Kagiso Rabada was right on the money from the very outset during the Delhi Capitals’ defense of 189 on Sunday night.

Rabada started off in a brilliant manner as he knocked over the danger man David Warner with a near unplayable inswinging yorker on the very delivery of his spell.

He then proceeded to take a crucial wicket of Kane Williamson before coming back to bowl the penultimate over to dismiss Abdul Samad, Rashid Khan, and Shreevats Goswami in three legal deliveries that he bowled to effectively seal the game and the finals spot for his franchise.

Rabada may have taken three wickets in the final over but by his own admission, he wasn’t happy with the way he bowled in the penultimate over. The South African bolter, who has now claimed 29 wickets in the season, was relieved that he eventually got the job done for his team.

Rabada was visibly excited at the prospect of playing his first-ever IPL final but the fast bowling spearhead asserted that Mumbai Indians are a pretty formidable unit and he and his team will have to showcase their talent to the hilt to beat them in the summit clash.

“Today was just my day. I don’t think I bowled particularly well in that last over. But there are days when you bowl well with no rewards so I will take that. If we end up winning the tournament, the contest for the purple cap doesn’t matter. I am just glad we got over the line today but we will have to be at least as good or better in the final. Delhi had never reached the final so we are glad to take the team there,” Kagiso Rabada said.

”Now it is all about sealing it off. Hopefully, we make it more history in the final game. The IPL final is huge. It is a huge tournament because of the magnitude of the players. The skill level is high. Mumbai is a really good team. We are a young team but we have a lot of talent as well.” he added.

Delhi Capitals will now face Mumbai Indians in the summit clash on November 10 in Dubai.
